Week 2 – The next 5!

We continue with our countdown of the Top 50 all time porn classics in alphabetical order. If you missed the first five I listed just check out my “Art of Adult” blog for last weeks first five. This week we give you one from the 1970′s, three from the 1980′s, and one from the 1990′s. Here they are:

American Desire – 1981 – Directed by the incomparable Lasse Braun (yes, the father of today’s Axel Bran), this is a taut, intense, excursion of the mind and body. The story of a couple whose sex life has gone downhill and what happens to hopefully get it back. The twists and turns, plus a very surprise ending make this film that will have your attention. Starring Veronica Hart in a superb role, the rest of the cast which includes Mai Linn and Richard Bolla are up to the challenge of Braun’s story. The sex scenes are steamy and all consuming as the performers hold nothing back. Another Braun masterpiece from the golden age of porn that is a definite classic to have and enjoy.

Barbara Broadcast – 1977 - The theme of this classic film was unlike any that had been done to that point. The film’s premise revolves around a reporter, Annette Haven, trying to get a big story from a former prostitute and the restaurant itself which is unusual to say the least. At this posh eatery the menu is sex and well dressed gentlemen, and ladies are getting sucked, fucked and whatever by the waiters, waitresses and each other. The entire wrap around on the Barbara Broadcast character and the supporting cast takes some interesting twists and turns along the way. When all is said and done this much awarded and Hall of Fame film is an all time classic at it’s finest and most unusual.

Flashpoint – 1997 – This exceptional film starred Jenna Jameson who was on her way to mega superstar popularity. This big budget feature was filled with some sizzling, hot sex scenes, but it was more than that. It was a well done story about a group of firefighters and what they deal with. The action scenes with the pyrotechnics, stunts, etc. were edge of your seat quality. The rigors that these actors had to go through in a real firehouse, a real burning building were eye popping. Brad Armstrong directed this with a mainstream look and feel and the cast responded with a true classic film that has become one of Wicked Pictures most sought after and deserves a top fifty place on the list.

Insatiable – 1980 - Marilyn Chambers made her name in the porn classic “Behind the Green Door”, but it was this intense film that really made her an even bigger name in porn films. It was a role that not only called for some very hardcore sex but some very dramatic acting as well. She plays Sandra a top model whose life changes when she loses both parents and left with a huge fortune, family mansion and more. The one thing that Sandra doesn’t have is a fulfilling sex life. She confides in her friend Flo about dreams she is having that are erotic and troubling. Her life now takes on a different path being drawn into a new world. Extremely well filmed on locations in London and rural America, this is a superb film that deserves classic status.

Ribald Tales of Canterbury – 1986 - This is one of the hidden gems of the 1980′s and is erotically told with both humor and intensity. Taking a Chaucer 13th century classic and turning into a porn feature was a major undertaking, but the end result is a film that is definitely a classic. Keep in mind back in that time the knights were very bold and horny and most of the ladies of the time were bawdy. All the Chaucer characters are here, the story led by hostess Hyapatia Lee who is perfect sexually and otherwise. There’s the Miller, the Wife of Bath and others as this merry band of travelers recall erotic stories that become real as they indulge their fantasies and needs. A great cast, direction, sets and costumes in a rousing sexually very hot classic.

There you have this week’s five classic films. That now makes ten of our top fifty of all time porn classics.
