THE ART OF ADULT – “What’s On the Way in Adult?”

It has been quite a year already with some great new films that have been released and created lots of pre nom buzz. The variety between parodies, features, all sex, all female, etc. has been simply amazing and it looks as though there is going to be no let up in top quality, exceptional releases coming out in the weeks and months to come.

As we mentioned a week or so ago, Vivid Entertainment is getting ready to go into production with a remake of the 1972 classic “Behind the Green Door”. This past weekend they held an open casting call for male and female talent for this film and the auditions were packed with some of porn’s well known and newest names reading for parts in the film, specifically the lead role that the late Marilyn Chambers made famous. The auditions were overseen by the director Paul Thomas, Production Manager Shylar Cobi, Eli Cross and Vivid’s Director of production Marci Hirsch.

In addition helping with the casting was Ms. Chambers daughter, McKenna Taylor. Among the female performers who read for the coveted role were Maddy O’Reilly, Allie Haze, Penny Pax, Tasha Reign, Bailey Blue, Alyssa Branch, Brandy Aniston, Vicki Chase, Ash Hollywood and Krissy Lynn among them. As for male talent they included Scott Nails, Seth Gamble, Ryan Driller, Sam Knight and Eric John.

From that group some were called back for a further audition plus reading an additional scene and those are taking place this week and the final casting will be announced shortly. Production and filming on this remake is scheduled to begin in about a month and a release date will either be very late 2012 or early 2013.

In addition to all that there is also a major casting call going on for another film, this one a parody of one of the all time Hollywood classics. Will Ryder is looking to cast talent that can also sing for his all out parody of the 1939 blockbuster “Wizard of Oz”. He will be casting for all the major roles of Dorothy, the Wizard, the good witch, the bad witch, the scarecrow, the Lion and the Tin Man as well as aunty Em and Uncle Henry. If I was stuck here in Florida I’d head to Hollywood to audition for the Uncle Henry role!! The roles will call for some singing and dancing as well as being a great sexual performer. Judging from Ryder’s past achievements and awards in parody films, this one will be another award nom production. If anyone can pull of a classic like “Wizard of Oz” in XXX parody form it is Will Ryder!

Keep your eyes and ears peeled because these are only two of several great new films that will becoming out this year and in 2013. The creative juices of people like Ryder, Thomas, Axel Braun, Jordan Septo, Brad Armstrong and other directors continue to push the envelope and raise the bar when it comes to producing new and exciting films be they originals, classic remakes, parodies or whatever. Because of these creative talents within the industry, it is you the adult film fan who have continued to push these talents to higher plateaus by your continued support of these projects. It is also something special for me, as a reviewer, to be able to screen these films and do reviews on them. To have seen these films in their original mainstream, TV or comic book form and then to see them return in XXX style is really a very special and enjoyable treat for me.
