MONTREAL, Quebec (April 15, 2013) – Thousands of votes have been counted, and the results are in—Magdalene St. Michaels and Giovanni Francesco are the 2013 Mile High Madness champions.  The sexy duo narrowly edged out Lily Cade and Nina Hartley in Mile High Media’s hit social media tournament.

On March 25, the Final Foreplay round began with four pairings representing four Mile High Media studios: Lily Cade and Nina Hartley (Sweetheart Video Region), Natasha Starr and Sean Michaels (Reality Junkies Region), Angell Summers and Keni Styles (Sweet Sinema Region), and Magdalene St. Michaels and Giovanni Francesco (Sweet Sinner Region).

Votes were cast through Twitter (www.Twitter.com/MileHighMovies), Facebook (www.Facebook.com/MileHighMedia), and Email (MileHighMediaMadness@gmail.com).  While every couple in the Final Foreplay round are guaranteed to shoot a scene for Mile High Media in the coming year, only two pairs could move on.

Advancing to face each other on April 5 were Lily Cade / Nina Hartley and Magdalene St. Michaels / Giovanni Francesco.  After tallying up the votes cast on Facebook and through emails, Lily and Nina were narrowly ahead by a mere 30 votes.  However, Magdalene and Giovanni took the majority of the Twitter votes, thus securing the championship.

Golden Globe Winner Anne Hathaway

The Golden Globe Awards took place last night in Hollywood and every big star you could imagine was there. The show was hosted by Amy Poehler and Tina Fey who did a great job! A survey released last week said that more teens and young adults use Tumblr more frequently than Facebook. The Survata Survey showed that 59% of respondents between the ages of 13 and 25 use Tumblr and 54% use Facebook.  Twitter came in at 20%, Instagram 16% and Snapchat 9%.

Delta Airlines led the industry with 86.64% of all flights arriving within 15 minutes of their scheduled time. They were followed by US Airways (86.1%), Southwest (83.9%), United (77.3%) and American (77.1%). Only 1.27% of all flights were canceled compared to 2.01% the previous year (the third-lowest mark in the paast 18 years). Airlines said good weather was the reason for the high numbers.

An eldery man crashed his car into a Lincoln, Nebraska pizza store. He says his foot got stuck under the accelerator and he shattered the stores front door and window. Last but not least … the NFL playoffs last weekend were amazing !!! The Baltimore Ravens shocked the Denver Broncos with a ”Hail Mary” pass in the closing seconds … San Francisco 49ers crushed the Green Bay Packers … Atlanta almost blew a 20 point lead but came back to squeak by Seattle 30-28 and The New England Patriots defeated the Houston Texans. That sets up next week’s games to see who plays in the Super Bowl down in New Orleans! The matchups are: SF -v- Atlanta and Baltimore -v- New England. Two great games and I’m pumped up for the NFL Playoffs !!!

Elvis Presley

Today would have been Elvis Presley’s 78th birthday. The Graceland Mansion in Memphis, TN was packed with people from around the world. The party was complete with music and a huge birthday cake. “The King” was born in Tupelo, Mississppi and moved to Memphis at age 13. He died on August 16, 1972 at the age of 42.

You might not know Willie McCoy but you know his legendary jingle that he composed for the Chili’s Restaurant chain. Everybody has belted out  the “Baby Back Ribs” song that McCoy wrote and performed. McCoy passed away last week and he had a BBQ themed funeral. The pallbearers sang the song as they carried his casket that was built to look like a BBQ smoker. The pallbearers were also dressed as chefs! 

A newcast in Sweden showed a bit more than they planned. As newcasters were talking about the problems in Syria, a television screen behind them was showing a porno movie! The adult flick played for approximately ten minutes before the station received hundreds of telephone calls. Damn, I don’t think I would have called, but I sure would have continued watching!

Say it isn’t true! TMZ published pictures of 18-year old Justin Bieber smoking what appears to be marijuana! The photos were reportedly taken January 2 inside a California hotel room. Bieber has not said much but did take to Twitter posting, “Everyday growing and learning. Trying to be better. U get knocked down, U get up”.  Bieber’s team is grilling his security about who took the photos.

Last but not least … Alabama crushed Notre Dame in last night’s BCS Championship game. That is the last college football game of the year and we now can put our pigskin attention to this weekend’s NFL playoffs. I will have my selections for all games the next few days!
